After an outstanding career spanning five decades, Ian Fraser will retire on 31st December 2024 as Managing Director of First Scottish Group. Ian joined the company in 2010, and his leadership has been transformative over the past 14 years. Under his guidance, First Scottish has gone from strength to strength and is firmly established as Scotland’s leading Searching Company. Ian has made a significant impact, and his legacy is one of professionalism, innovation, and dedication to excellence.
Reflecting on his retirement, Lorna Innes, Development Director, said: “Ian’s leadership has been nothing short of inspirational. His focus on quality and service has shaped who we are as a business today, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s achieved. It’s now up to us to continue building on that success.”
As Ian steps into retirement, the company is entering a new era. Lorna Innes and Finance Director Sam Burton have been appointed Joint Managing Directors. Lorna and Sam are highly respected and well-known to customers, having been with First Scottish since 1998 and 2006, respectively. Their combined experience and deep understanding of the business make them the ideal team to lead the company forward.
Looking ahead, Lorna will focus on customer relationships and ensure First Scottish continues to deliver the high standards of service for which it is renowned. Meanwhile, Sam will concentrate on the corporate side of the business, driving operational efficiency and growth.
Sam Burton commented about the future: “Lorna and I are excited to take on this new challenge together. We’re committed to ensuring that First Scottish remains the go-to company in the industry while embracing new opportunities to evolve and grow. Ian has left us with big shoes to fill, but we’re ready to build on his incredible legacy.”
